In my role as the Director of the Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence at Johns Hopkins University (GovEx), I spearheaded the design and development of the core curriculum for the Performance Management Track program within the Bloomberg City Data Alliance. This program was tailored to cities across the Americas, offering them technical support aimed at helping city leaders establish robust routines and processes for managing and measuring their most critical projects.

 

Through the Performance Management Track, city leaders gained access to invaluable tools and resources designed to cultivate a high-impact and sustainable approach to performance management. By implementing these methodologies, mayors and their executive teams were empowered to confront their most pressing challenges head-on. They established regular performance routines that facilitated strategic thinking, targeted resource allocation, and responsive decision-making, all underpinned by best-in-class data practices.
